Day 1
Arrival
On arrival you will be picked by your guide from Swifta African Safaris and assist you with your luggage and escort you to the car, for the 45 min drive to your lodge at the outskirts of Arusha town, for overnight stay at Ambureni Coffee Lodge
Day 2
Tarangire National Park
This morning after breakfast, your group will depart for Tarangire National Park. Here you’ll find a geologic landscape as diverse as the wildlife, with nine distinct vegetation zones ranging from grassland to woodland, from deep gully vegetation to scattered rocky hilltops. Ancient Baobab trees dot the landscape dwarfing the animals that feed beneath them. The Tarangire River meanders through the park and attracts an abundance of wildlife, from elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo, zebra, giraffe and numerous antelope to a variety of colorful birds. After lunch at your camp you will depart on an afternoon game drive, returning in time for a sundowner around the fire before dinner and overnight stay at Tarangire Sopa Lodge.
Day 3
Lake Manyara
After an early breakfast, depart down the steep road into Lake Manyara National Park.. Although only 205 sq. miles in size this enchanting park is one of the most beautiful wildlife sanctuaries in East Africa. It is noted for incredibly lush groundwater forest of giant fig and mahogany trees, which are home to troops of baboons and blue monkeys. The park is also home to large numbers of buffalo, giraffe, elephant, hippo, impala and of course it’s famous tree climbing lions. Other highlights include the Hippo Pool, where large numbers usually gather. Well known for its birds (over 400 species), Lake Manyara is one of the few places you will see the comical Ground Hornbill and the Crested Eagle.
Enjoy a long morning of game viewing, stopping for a picnic lunch. After more wildlife viewing later in the early Evening we will head to our Lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 4
Ngoro Ngoro Crater
This morning after an early breakfast we will head to ngorongoro and descend down to the crater floor for a day of wildlife viewing. With walls 2,000 ft high and a crater floor that spreads for 102 sq. miles, the crater is a virtual “Noah’s Ark”, inhabited by almost every species of wildlife indigenous to East Africa including the rare black rhino. It contains a river, several swamps, a soda lake – complete with flamingoes, a forest and open plains. The large bull elephants that reside here have extremely large tusk, due to the rich mineral content of the volcanic soil and it’s grasses.
After a stop for a picnic lunch and more wildlife viewing, then drive up the steep road back to your lodge. You have the remainder of the day to enjoy the lodge and time to freshen up before dinner.
Day 5
Olduvai to Serengeti
After breakfast proceed to Serengeti National Park passing through Ngorongoro Conservation Malanja Depression towards Olduvai Gorge. This desert like gorge lies at the foot of the Ngorongoro highlands and is world-renowned site as a repository for the remains of vast numbers of animals that roamed these plains years ago. We will visit the museum featuring the famous Zinj skull, the Zinjanthropus men of 1.8 million years ago, whose remaining were found here by Dr. Leakey. Early am after picnic lunch we enter the Serengeti National Park and drive toward Seronera River Valley en route game drive. Dinner and overnight stay at the Seronera Wildlife Lodge.
Day 6
Serengeti National Park
Serengeti is a big as Northern Ireland. It is the greatest sanctuary in the world, fantastic in its natural beauty. Serengeti contains about 4 million different types of animals including the Big five; Rhino, Leopard, Buffalo, Lion and the Elephant. You will have a full day in Serengeti with morning and afternoon game drives. Lunch, Dinner and overnight stay at bush camping at Serengeti Camp Site
Day 7
Depature
After Morning game drive in Serengeti National Park with picnic lunches we will head off via Simba Kopjes to Naabi Hill Gate were we will stop to enjoy one of the most memorable picnic lunches in your life at this plains of Serengeti to drive towards Ngorongoro conservation area and hence to Arusha in the Late afternoon Ready For your flight back Home.
